Magnesium ingots(Pure Magnesium Metal Ingot) are solid blocks of high purity magnesium metal, which are produced by electrolysis of magnesium chloride or from magnesium-bearing minerals. Magnesium ingots can be made to varying levels of purity depending on the intended use. The most common grade of magnesium ingot is 99.9% pure, which is often used for alloying with other metals.

Application

3. In the form of turnings or ribbons, to prepare Grignard reagents, which are useful in organic synthesis.
4. As an additive agent in conventional propellants and the production of nodular graphite in cast iron.
5. As a reducing agent for the production of uranium and other metals from their salts.
6.As a sacrificial (galvanic) anode to protect underground tanks, pipelines, buried structures, and water heaters.
Note
It is important to handle magnesium ingots carefully, as they can be reactive and can igniteor explode if exposed to certain materials or conditions (such as moisture, acids, or high temperatures). They should be stored in a cool, dry place away from other reactive materials and sources of heat or sparks.
